The RA Factor test measures the level of Rheumatoid Factor, an autoantibody that the immune system may produce when it mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues. High RA Factor levels are commonly associated with autoimmune conditions, especially Rheumatoid Arthritis, but can also appear in other inflammatory or chronic infections. This test helps doctors evaluate joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and other symptoms related to autoimmune disorders.
A small blood sample is collected from a vein for the RA Factor test, and no fasting or special preparation is required. Results are used to support diagnosis, monitor disease progression, and guide treatment plans when rheumatoid arthritis or related conditions are suspected. This test is often done along with other markers like CRP, ESR, and Anti-CCP for a more accurate assessment.
